Infrastructure Engineer – Permanent – Hybrid/London – Up to £55,000 Per Annum The Infrastructure Engineer will join a small infrastructure team within a fast growing IT Solutions company. You will be supporting, maintaining and developing the critical IT infrastructure of global corporate clients. This will include involvement in projects, deploying and working with new technologies. This is a hands-on technical role which will require a wide breadth of technical expertise. The ability to interact effectively with client representatives at all levels from junior to executive is paramount. Key Responsibilities Ensure contractual obligations to customers are fulfilled. Monitor customer systems and network performance, to process alerts and manage Incidents and Service Requests. Completion of pre-defined project activities to deliver new or updated solutions to customers. These activities may either be performed remotely or where required on- site at a customer location. Receive escalations from other members of the Service Desk, escalate effectively to achieve the highest level of customer service. Maximise the use of all in-house systems to be a key member of a highly customer focused, professional team. Prepare and implement change requests to undertake essential work and maintenance. To endorse and co-operate fully with the Business Improvement process, participating in or contributing to, designated change projects as required. Highlight gaps or possible improvements in the Standard Operating Procedure library, other support documentation and general processes as part of the Continual Service Improvement process. Adhere to Information Security policies and standards. Adhere to Compliance policies and standards. Provide the highest level of internal customer service during direct or indirect customer interaction. Qualifications and Skills The individual will be expected to follow IT policies and procedures, find solutions to minimize operating costs, improve customer experiences, and where relevant devise processes, methodologies, and documentation to make sure that they are providing high-quality customer support. Due to the varied nature of the technology deployed both internally and at customers’ sites, a wide breadth of knowledge, experience and proficiency in the majority of the following technologies is a requirement for this role: Server and Cloud Infrastructure Microsoft Windows Server management (including PowerShell scripting skills, security patching and capacity management). Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID within cloud native and hybrid cloud environments. Deployment, management and administration of private cloud IaaS (e.g. VMware). Deployment, management and administration of public cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. (e.g. Microsoft Azure). Business backup and continuity solutions (e.g. Veeam, Mimecast). Cloud migration methods and tools (e.g. Azure Migrate). Public Cloud backup and recovery solutions. Mail Administration Microsoft Exchange (e.g. Exchange on premise, online and hybrid). Spam filtering administration (Mimecast Cloud and similar). End user client management (Outlook, OWA, mobile devices). Endpoint Management Mobile Device Management solutions (e.g. Microsoft intune). Patch Management. Workstation and Application deployment (e.g. ConfigMgr, Autopilot). Security and Availability Infrastructure monitoring and alerting (e.g. Solarwinds). Anti-Virus, encryption and associated end user compute security products. Single Sign-On/ADFS/MFA. Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications Sound knowledge of the technical disciplines listed above will be explored in detail during the interview process. Qualifications expected will compromise of the following: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate - Demonstrates proficiency in managing cloud services. (Preferred). Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate - Expertise in managing Windows Server environments. (Preferred). VMware Certified Professional (VCP) - Validates expertise in virtualization technologies. (Desirable). CompTIA Network - Foundational networking skills. (Desirable) Experience, knowledge or a qualification in the ITIL Framework. Experience working in a Managed Services Provider. Travel and Location The role will be a hybrid position with regular attendance at the company’s London Bridge office or clients’ premises as required.
